HopeBuilders are the foundation of Habitat for Humanity’s housing ministry. Through monthly donations, HopeBuilders provide Habitat with a consistent and reliable source of funding that allows us to plan ahead.

When you join Habitat for Humanity’s HopeBuilders, you will join a special group of people reaching out each month to provide affordable housing for families, right here in the Roanoke Valley. Together, we can eradicate substandard housing and give families a decent home and the hope of a better life.

Matching Gift Program

Many companies offer an option where they will match, double or even triple your donation to a charitable organization. Check with your HR department to see if your employer offers this program. If they do, complete and send your companies’ matching gift form along with your donation to Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.

Privacy Policy
Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley will not share or sell a donor’s personal information with anyone, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.  This policy is applicable to both online and offline donors.

Meaningful ways in which you can support Habitat/Roanoke through charitable giving:

Charitable Remainder Trust and Charitable Lead Trusts
Charitable Remainder Trusts provide payments to you or your designee with the remaining amount donated to Habitat/Roanoke at the trust’s end.  Charitable Lead Trusts provide payments to Habitat/Roanoke with the remaining amount going to you or your designee at the trust’s end.

Charitable Gift Annuity 
A charitable gift annuity is among the easiest and most popular methods of making a planned gift. By making a gift to Habitat/Roanoke, you receive an immediate charitable tax deduction and potential savings in capital gains and estate taxes.  You also collect a lifetime fixed income from your.

IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are at least 70 1/2 years of age, you can make a gift to Habitat from your IRA without paying taxes on that gift.  Distributions must be made directly from the IRA trustee to Habitat/Roanoke.

Bequest
Create a legacy by designating Habitat/Roanoke in your will.

Life Insurance Policy:
Donate a policy or a portion of a policy that is no longer needed or establish a new policy that names Habitat/Roanoke as a beneficiary and you can deduct the annual premiums.
